Two cultures sharing "oneness" in Thailand
In the spring of 2009, I traveled from the U.S. with my mother and my newphew (pictured on left) to meet my friends in Bangkok, Thailand. As we entered into a new culture, there was such an ease and comfort as the kindness of the people quickly won over our hearts. What religious tradition made this feeling possible? I soon found out that an overwhelming majority of the people in Thailand practice Buddhism. I learned even more by attending a retreat presented by Mae Chee Sansanee, a renoun Buddhist Nun. As the trip came to an end, I came away amazed at how living one's religious practice daily can contribute greatly to harmony. We eat different foods, pray in different languages, and practice different customs, inspite of our differences, we share a destiny "oneness"... Robin L. Johnson, Founder, ETA 2 Oneness
